Remember in November 2023 when Comedian Marlon Wayans, 51 expressed to the public what it is like to raise a transgender child and his unconditional love and support for them, as they go through the process of transitioning…?
Well, if you didn’t know that the Wayans will make a BOLD statement in love and support for each other, you know now.
This year Marlon is standing 10 toes down for his transgender son Kai, 24 in a series of PRIDE post on Instagram. Starting with a LGBTQ+ photo shoot, featuring him posing shirtless while wearing silver pants and surrounded by rainbow props, as well as wearing a gray sweater adorned with various pride buttons with messages such as “love wins,” “100% pride” and “love is love.”
Wayans received numerous backlashes for his photos, but he addressed them only a WAYANS would… Funny and unbothered. He made a post for the “hate mongers”
“Yeah and just for the HATE MONGERS … I’m posting ANOTHER,” Wayans wrote in the caption. “As a father of a child in the LGBTQ+ community I show my support. Zero f‐‐‐‐ what people think. If I lost you… GOOD! Your hateful a‐‐ never loved me in the first place. How can you love anyone when you’re too busy judging. Some of y’all funny. I’m a troll. I’ll post all day.”
To this day Wayans continues to post from the shoot and each photw gets better and better.
“Looking at my comments… i don’t think the haters got my message… HAPPY FUCKNG PRiDE BITCHES!!! I ain’t God so I don’t judge, I’m father, a friend and a damn loving human so i exercise my right to LOVE.”
But though all the hate, there is LOVE. Many celebrities showed their support for Marlon such as DL Hughley with this heartfelt tweet.
People will not always support your lifestyle, especially in the LGBTQ community but when you have the love and support of your family and friends, that is a win all round. May parents of LGBTQ children continue to show love.
